Our Services This Week - Sunday 4 October
All Age Service
for Harvest
Join us at on Sunday 4 October for our All Age Service with communion as we celebrate our Harvest Festival, and the generous bounty of God’s gifts during the season of harvest.
We will be collecting donations of non perishable food for St Albans Food Bank and collections at our services will also go to the Food Bank.
The service is live streamed and can be watched here.
Tea and coffee are served after the service and everyone is welcome to stay and chat.
Themed Evensong celebrating the
Life and Works of
Saint Francis of Assisi
Join us on Sunday 4 October at 6pm for this special Themed Evensong about the Life and Works of St Francis of Assisi.
Marking the 800th anniversary of the death of the man considered the patron saint of animals and the environment, this choir led service features specially selected, beautiful choral music, hymns, prayers, readings and a short talk.
Stay afterwards for a glass of wine or fruit juice.
Up Coming Events
Our popular baby and toddler groups resume on 2 and 3 September. Baby Time is on Wednesday mornings from 9.30-11am and Toddler Time is on Thursday mornings from 9.30-11am. Both run weekly during term time.
A time for pre school children and their carers to come to the Octagon at St Peter's for a play, chat and refreshments.

Themed Evensong on the Life and Works of
St Francis of Assisi
Join us for this special themed evensong marking the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis.
The service will be followed by a glass of wine or fruit juice.
Lunchtime Concerts
Join us for our lunchtime concert on 7 October featuring Cornelia and Friends jazz quartet.
Concerts start at 1pm and last just under an hour. They are free to attend with retiring donations for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice.
Light refreshments are served in the Octagon following the concert.

Dwelling in the Word
Everyone is welcome to attend Dwelling in the Word which is held once a month in the church library. Starting at 11am we meet for about an hour and a quarter, to read a short passage of scripture. For more information click here.
Tea on Tuesday
Join us at 2pm on Tuesday 13 October for Tea on Tuesday.
Enjoy tea and cakes with friends in the Octagon.
No need to book. Everyone welcome.
The Book That Changed the World
St Peter's Church and St Albans Cathedral present a powerful one hour dramatic performance marking the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale's English New Testament.
The performance takes place on Thursday 15 October at 7pm in St Peter's Church and will be followed by drinks.

On 10th November the Cathedral will host a lecture by Professor Alex Ryrie telling the dramatic story of what Tyndale did, the odds he fought against, and of how, his book became a pillar of England's Reformation from Henry VIII to James I. more information and tickets here.
Organ Concert
Tomyr Warcaba-Wood
We're celebrating the 20 year anniversary since our Mander organ was installed here at St Peter's. Tomyr will be providing a programme of organ music for our enjoyment.
Bar selling alcoholic and soft drinks during the interval and after the concert.
Tickets are available from the Church Office or on the door £18 for adults / under 10's free.

Wine Tasting Evening
Tickets are now on sale for our wine tasting evening on Friday 23 October starting at 7pm. The event includes wine tasting, a wine quiz, cheese and crackers and a cash/card bar. £15 per ticket to be purchased in advance from the church office. Limited space. Book early through the church office to avoid disappointment.
All Saints' Party
Join us on Friday 30 October from 3.30-5.30pm for our All Saints Party.
Disco, crafts, a pumpkin trail and food and drink.

Our church has long been a place of hospitality as one the city’s ancient gateway churches and people have worshipped here for over a thousand years.
